Privacy Policy

CHRONELLE&ARC ("we", "us", or "our") operates the NOTEPAD Android application ("NOTEPAD" or the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how NOTEPAD handles information when you use the App.

1. Information stored by NOTEPAD

NOTEPAD is designed as a local-first writing application. Notes, note text, titles, captions, formatting, selected layouts, colors, pinned status, trash status, reminder information, widget configuration, and photos that you add to notes are stored on your device for the App's functionality.

NOTEPAD does not send your note content, note photos, or locally stored note data to CHRONELLE&ARC's servers.

2. Permissions and device features

Depending on the features you use, NOTEPAD may request access to device features such as notifications, alarms/reminders, and photos or media selected by you. These permissions are used only to provide the corresponding App functionality.

Reminder notifications are generated on your device. The Android home-screen widget reads the App's locally stored note data to display the note information you choose.

3. Information we do not collect through NOTEPAD

NOTEPAD does not require an account or sign-in. We do not use NOTEPAD to collect your name, email address, contacts, precise location, or note content for our own databases.

4. Sharing of information

CHRONELLE&ARC does not sell your personal information. We do not share your locally stored note content or note photos with third parties through NOTEPAD.

Google Play handles app distribution and payment processing for purchases made through Google Play. Payment credentials are handled by Google and are not stored by NOTEPAD.

5. Data security

NOTEPAD stores its application data within the Android application storage environment and uses local file-handling mechanisms designed to protect data integrity. You are responsible for maintaining appropriate device security, including your device lock and Android account security.

6. Data retention and deletion

Your locally stored NOTEPAD data remains on your device until you delete it, remove it through the App's available controls, clear the App's data, or uninstall the App. Items moved to Trash remain available according to the App's Trash functionality until permanently deleted.

Because NOTEPAD does not maintain a server-side account or cloud database for your notes, CHRONELLE&ARC does not retain a server-side copy of your note content for deletion upon request.

7. Children's privacy

NOTEPAD is not specifically directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the App.

8. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App's data practices or applicable requirements change. The updated version will be published at this same URL with a revised "Last updated" date.
